Privacy policy

WebElf is operated by Adventis Intelligence ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit webelf.ai or use the WebElf service, how we use it, and the choices you have. Contact us at hello@webelf.ai or at 2187 Oak Bay Ave, Victoria, BC, Canada V8R 1G1.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details when you fill in a form: your email address and, if you choose to provide them, your business name and website address.
• Account and site content if you sign up for the service: the business details, text, images and instructions you provide so we can build and maintain your website.
• Messages you send us by email or through the site.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and the page that referred you.
• Campaign data: if you arrive from an advertisement or a link, we record the campaign parameters in the link (for example utm_source, utm_campaign, fbclid) so we know which campaigns work.
• Cookies and similar technologies, described below.

How we use information

• To respond to your enquiry and contact you about WebElf. If you leave your email on our site, a member of our team will get in touch about next steps.
• To provide, host, maintain and improve websites built with the service, and to keep your account secure.
• To measure and improve our marketing, including understanding which advertisements lead people to our site.
• To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not send marketing newsletters unless you ask for them.

Cookies and advertising

We use a small number of cookies: a cookie that remembers the campaign link you arrived from, cookies needed to keep you signed in if you have an account, and the Meta Pixel, a measurement tool provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The Meta Pixel sets cookies and sends Meta information about your visit (such as the pages you view and whether you submit a form) so we can measure our advertising and show relevant advertisements on Meta platforms. Meta may combine this with information it already holds about you. You can learn more and manage your preferences in Meta's privacy policy and ad settings. You can also block cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers that help us run WebElf, and only as needed for that purpose:

• Hosting and infrastructure providers (Vercel, Supabase, Google Cloud) that store our data and serve our websites.
• Email delivery providers (Resend) that send our emails to you.
• AI model providers (Anthropic) that process the business information you give us in order to write and edit website content. Your information is not used to train their models.
• Payment processors (Stripe) if you purchase a plan. We never see your full card number.
• Advertising and analytics partners (Meta) as described above.
• Authorities, where required by law, or a successor business if we are acquired.

Where information is stored and how long we keep it

Our providers store information in the United States and Canada. We keep enquiry details for as long as we are in contact with you about WebElf and for up to 24 months afterwards, account information for as long as you have an account and a reasonable period afterwards, and campaign measurement data for up to 24 months. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (including under Canada's PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR and California's CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email hello@webelf.ai. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local privacy regulator.

Children

WebElf is a business service and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date, and if the changes are significant we will tell you by email where we have it.
